The Nine Eagles Solo is the best micro helicopter to get started with. If you’re looking for your first micro helicopter, this is it. The Solo is the perfect for newbies because it is advanced enough to learn to teach you some real flying skills but not so advanced that a beginner would struggle to keep it in a hover. It’s inexpensive too at under $60. If you’re serious about learning to fly RC helicopters, don’t bother with the 3-channel helicopters. They can teach you basic orientation, but that’s about it. You need something with 4 channels and a replaceable battery. There are other options available but they don’t come close to the price of the Solo. You also get a 2.4GHz digital transmitter that is one of the best in the class. It has an LCD display that shows the helicopters battery life and it offers dual rate settings (easy mode/hard mode). If you eventually decide to upgrade to the Solo Pro, you can save some money since you will already have the transmitter.
Keep in mind that the model name for the Solo is actually the 210A. Solo is the name for this particular style of the 210A. If you like the features and price of the 210A but don’t like the style of the solo, you can check out the Free Spirit or the Draco. Each of those are different styles of the same helicopter.
